In ultrapure water for pharmaceutical and semiconductor applications, TOC (Trace Organic Chemicals or Total Organic Content) levels often pose a challenge before further processing. Removing small traces of organic compounds found in ultrapure water without affecting pH or chemistry of the water, or without introducing other elements is not easy.

Well designed TOC reduction UV systems are an excellent way to control TOC levels in ultrapure water.

Sukrut TOC Reduction UV Systems generate high UV dose levels with 185nm and 254nm dual wavelength UV radiation to attack TOC levels. Our systems create multiple types of photochemical reactions which work concurrently to reduce TOC levels in ultrapure water, all without changing water chemistry, affecting pH, or introducing any elements into the ultrapure water.
TOC reduction with UV radiation is much more complicated than UV disinfection because there are a large number of organic chemicals, each with different sensitivity to UVC radiation.
As a result, TOC reduction UV systems need to meet specific requirements and require very high UV dose levels.
